She was addicted to Adderall and cocaine. She started at the age of 17. Lovato went to rehab when she was 18 but that didn’t work. She was either on drugs or craving drugs. When she was 19 she almost overdosed on cocaine and annex.The management company had enough and gave her an ultimatum saying that they would leave if she didn’t go to rehab. Lovato destroyed her phone on request of her manager, went to rehab again and she is sober now. Lovato also made a documentary named “Simply Complicated” where she tells the story of her life, how she got addicted and how she is doing now. She also mentions that she feels ashamed and embarrassed by that part of her life. Lovato admitted that her fans were shocked when they heard she was addicted to drugs.
